Is "Funkstille" an escape room or a LARP?

Our event has elements of both: puzzles and problem-solving like an escape room, and an element of interaction and group dynamics that underlies LARP play. The impressive set and costumes are another factor that makes "Funkstille" more than an escape room or conventional LARP. We create an immersive experience with professional-level illusions.

What is a LARP?

"LARP" stands for "Live Action Role Play," a real-time role-playing game. You can imagine it as improvisational theater with a fixed theme. Pretty much everyone has live role-played as a child without knowing it: as a witch, princess, detective or unicorn. It's one of the most natural games there is.

LARP as a hobby has a vibrant community with countless variations. Our "Funkstille" event is designed to provide everyone with an entertaining evening without any prior knowledge and without stress. All you need to bring is curiosity and good spirits.

Do I need experience playing a role?

Anyone can participate, even if they have no experience playing a role. You can't do anything wrong. There's no requirement other than everyone having fun.

Do I need to bring a costume?

No, we provide a costume (jacket). Of course, you're welcome to complement it with items you bring (e.g., white pants).

How long do the missions last?

About three hours plus preparation (character selection, changing into costumes, mini workshop). Missions usually start around 6:30 PM, but other times are possible for group bookings.

Is physical fitness required?

No, the game is not physically demanding. However, there aren't many seating options in the set. So standing and walking shouldn't be a problem for you. Unfortunately, the play area is not handicapped accessible.

Does the experience contain distressing scenes, impressions or effects?

No. There are no horror elements, no jump scares, no strobe effects. However, the mystery of the space station and its crew must be solved, so dramatic scenes may occur in the story. If you have specific needs you'd like information about, please contact us at info@kulissenhelden.de.

Can I take a break during the event?

Of course, anytime. There's no requirement for continuous attendance.

Is there food or drink?

We don't offer catering. Best to arrive well-fed. However, you can bring a snack that you can eat in the break room. Food and drink are not permitted in the sets. If you've booked the game exclusively for a whole group, thematically appropriate catering is available upon request.

Are there overnight accommodations?

No, but there are numerous hotels and vacation rentals in the immediate vicinity.

Is it possible to arrive by public transport?

Yes, very easily with tram line 25 towards Grünwald, stop Bavariafilmplatz. From there it's just a few minutes on foot.

Can I choose who plays in my "Funkstille" experience?

The participants of an evening are determined by the registrations for that date. Of course, it's also possible to book a group ticket and bring your friends. You can even book an entire evening exclusively.
